Do Human Beings Have Pheromones - Well...Do They?

The debate surrounding the question do human beings have pheromones continues to rage and as yet, while most acknowledge their existence in humans, it's yet to be set in stone.

Human pheromones have fascinated the scientific world for well over 50 years and some major breakthroughs have been achieved in that time. In the early 70s, it was discovered pheromones could have been at play in the incidence of women's menstrual cycles while research continues on the role of pheromones in our day-to-day existence.

Dr. Winifred Cutler took research to another level and implemented the marketing of human pheromone products. Do human beings have pheromones? Well, since they were first put on the market in fragrance and cologne products the momentum towards their use has certainly been on an upward spiral, especially in the past five years.

Pheromones Role

The main role of pheromones in most living organisms is to attract one another but also to emit signals, warnings, mark a territory and/or recognize its own species. Pheromones released by a specific species can usually only be detected by its kind and that is why humans sometimes will use them in traps for animals especially in the mating season.

The question, do human beings have pheromones often comes up simply because their existence within human beings is yet to be ratified. In other words, it needs confirmation from a governing body or authority somewhere to say and record uncategorically..."Yes, humans do have pheromones.

Yes, human beings do have pheromones according to various research studies conducted all over the world. How would a burgeoning industry such as pheromone-enhanced products continue to grow at such a rapid rate if they were fake. Are the products being sold fake? If so, why are they allowed to be marketed.

It's an interesting debate...do human beings have pheromones? I think most concede we do.
